Cantonese Lite is a series of small modules designed to help you learn Cantonese.
If you're interested in learning Cantonese but do not want to purchase the full-on Cantonese Pro, then the Cantonese Lite modules are perfect for you.
Each module is a stand-alone unit dealing with different aspects of learning Cantonese.
Cantonese is a tonal language, ie the same sound can be pronounced in different tones, each of which has a different meaning. How good your Cantonese is will depend greatly on how well you master your tones.
This Cantonese Lite module concentrates on the 6 different tones found in the language. As well as background information, there is an extensive tone drill which will train your ears to recognise the different tones.
In most parts of the program you can click on a word, a phrase or a sentence to hear the pronunciation. Cantonese Lite, like Cantonese Pro, is recorded by native Cantonese speakers, so you can be assured that what you are learning is correct and will be understood by other Cantonese speakers.
The comprehensive 'Tone Drills' chapter will train your ears to distinguish the six different tones in Cantonese. The tone drills are presented as two-character phrases. |
