musikcube
About musikcube
musikcube is a terminal-based music player and audio engine written in C++. It functions as a cross-platform music library, player, and server. The software runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Raspberry Pi, with support for various audio backends like ALSA, PulseAudio, and Core Audio.
In addition to local playback, musikcube includes a streaming server that allows remote control and audio streaming. The server operates on ports 7905 (WebSocket for metadata) and 7906 (HTTP for audio), though it lacks built-in encryption and is recommended for local network use only.
The player features a text-based interface with keyboard navigation and supports metadata indexing. An Android remote control app, musikdroid, is available for controlling playback from mobile devices.
