SnapX
About SnapX
SnapX is a free, open-source, cross-platform screen capture and sharing tool. It allows users to capture or record any area of their screen and instantly share it with a single keypress. Built as a fork of ShareX, SnapX extends functionality to multiple platforms while maintaining compatibility with many ShareX features.
The tool supports various file formats including images (PNG, WEBP, AVIF, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP) and offers upload capabilities to multiple destinations. It's designed with performance in mind, utilizing GPU acceleration for responsive UI interactions.
SnapX is currently in Early Access, with core capture and upload functionality stable for daily use. The development team is actively working on additional features like the Image Editor. The software respects platform standards, following XDG directory specifications on Linux/macOS and offering configuration through command line, environment variables, or Windows Registry.
